We had three awesome guests: Cynthia Stennis, Lloyd Fields, and Joyce Davis work with housing projects in the Bronx, Miami, and South Carolina. Even though it was an intimate group for the live zoom event, folks who just popped began to stay, transfixed by the power of the speakers, and their active role in making history with their activities in some of the most dangerous and underserved housing projects in the United States.
About our Guests:
Cynthia Stennis enjoys a life of retirement after working in the Miami-Dade Human Service Department for 32 years. While working in the agency, she has held various positions that focus primarily on the wellbeing of youth throughout South Florida. In the 3 Principles community, she is known for being a key agent in working with Dr. Roger Mills in the Modello Project. Cynthia has worked along with Dr. Mills and, later, with his daughter Ami, as a consultant in various community projects around the county over the years and has shared the 3 Principle with other groups in the U.K. Enjoying retirement, she stays active at her local church and various community activities.


Lloyd Fields has worked in the field of Social work for over 34 years. He has experience working with various populations during his tenure. Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Roger Mills, Mr. Fields worked as the lead social worker in the Modello project in Miami, Florida. He worked extensively with the youth, parents, and professionals utilizing what is now known as the 3 principles model.
Since the Modello project, he has worked as a Community Social worker; a Community Organizer/ facilitator, 3 Principles trainer/facilitator, Delinquency Diversion Coordinator/Counselor, and a Domestic Violence Victims Advocate. Since 2000 he has worked as an advocate for victims of violent crimes and victims of Domestic Violence. Presently, he is employed at S.H.A.R.E. House Inc., a Domestic Violence Service center in Douglasville, Ga. as an Outreach Coordinator overseeing 4 programs. He has a B.A. degree in Sociology; a Masters in Social work, and a Doctors in Ministry. He is married to Sylvia Fields for 33 years and together has three children.
Joyce Higginson Davis, MDiv. Consultant, Joyce H. Davis Associates. Building communities is Joyce’s passion. Joyce Higginson Davis is a community leader, activist, advocate, organizer, and business consultant, providing support in community building, leadership development, and organizational change for both major corporations and non-profit organizations. She specializes in models designed to inspire and empower individuals, teams, and organizations to take positive action. Her goals are to provide leadership and build institutions that inspire and empower people to solve their own problems and create healthy, thriving personal lives, teams, partnerships, and cultures.
Under every circumstance and without exception, Joyce has displayed the qualities of a magnificent neighbor as well as a civic leader. She is possessed of great compassion, she is reasoned, highly intelligent, and always, a person upon whom one can depend. These qualities are tempered by her sense of humor and above all by the abiding faith which shapes her daily life.
